Eyes?
Decided that the animation didn't look quite right, and realised it was due to the character having no eyes. Therefore I spent the morning make him some eyes. I used simple spheres in Max, and applied a texture i made in Photoshop.

Something to try
I have found a tutorial for animating a face, that does not use bones to alter the mesh. It uses the morph function of 3D Studio Max, and allows for more control. I will follow the tutorial today and see what effect it creates.

Rigging the face
So far, rigging the face has not been a success. Having followed 3 different tutorials, I still cannot get the control and look I want from the rig, or the rig just doesn't work at all. I may have to use a different technique to using bones.

Complete Head
Ears are now attached to the head, and the modelling is now compete. I can now start rigging the face for animation. Attaching the ears was harder than I first thought it would be. Firstly I had to make room for it to be attached, and then I had to add several polys to the head so that it could be attached properly without affecting the topology.
Ears
Have a model of the ears made, just need to attach them to the head. I plane modelled the ear as it will make attaching it to the head much easier.
